Tis The Season…

Christmas is quickly approaching and we would love for you and your family to join us on Saturday morning December 2 to make an Advent wreath for your home. Advent wreaths are a traditional way to count down the  four weeks until Christmas by lighting candles as a family or a church. Feel free to leave the candles off and have a beautiful hand made wreath for you home or centerpiece for your table.

We’ll provide all the supplies, ribbons, greens, candles, and tools. All you need to do is sign up, bring the kids to help, and enjoy. (In case of rain we will hold the event the next day, at noon, in the multipurpose room of the Creative Arts Elementary School following our service.)

Delicious warm drinks will be available for purchase from our hosts, The Orange Spot Coffeehouse. Tickets are 5$  per family and we are asking to help make supplies last only one wreath is made per household.

Each family will create their own Advent wreath to celebrate Christ’s coming and enjoy some festive Christmas goodies.  All supplies will be provided.  The workshop will begin at the Children’s Museum immediately following the 9am service. Please RSVP below by November 26.

Join us in celebrating the beginning of the Advent season by making an Advent wreath to take home. Everything you need will be provided (including cookies and hot chocolate). Invite your friends and neighbors. Each family attending the event will make one Advent wreath to take home.

Registration is requested. There is no cost for the event. Registration guarantees one wreath kit per family and is strongly encouraged. This event is limited to 100 families. Walk-ins are welcome. Materials will be provided to walk-ins on a first-come, first-served basis until they are gone.

Praying Like A Man:
Finding Strength and Authority in the Psalms

Our speaker for the weekend, Peter Walker, is a biblical scholar with a marvelous, engaging style of teaching. He will take us through David’s Psalms, helping us to find the strength and authority God intends for men “after His own heart”​​. Peter’s desire is to spark a fresh wonder of scripture and a deeper love of Jesus Christ in the men of St. Andrew’s.

The weekend will blend powerful teaching and discussion with a healthy dose of free time to relax and unwind.

At an Alpha course people explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting during nine thought-provoking weekly sessions, along with a one-day session.

Everyone is welcome at Alpha and people attend for a wide variety of reasons. Some are investigating whether God exists or if there is any point to life, some are concerned about what happens after death. Others may have attended church on and off all their lives but feel they have never really understood the basics of the Christian faith.

People come from many different backgrounds, holding many different viewpoints – but all come with the same objective: to establish whether Jesus Christ has any real relevance for their lives.  Dinner and childcare (ages 6 weeks – 5th grade) are included.

God is Love: The Surprising Good News of a Three-Person God

The Trinity is at the core of the Christian faith and yet many are confused or even embarrassed by it.  Can’t we do without the Trinity? Isn’t the Trinity a contradiction?  Does the Bible even teach the Trinity?  In this course, we will unpack this central Christian belief through the teaching of the Apostles’ Creed.  We will discover how the Trinity is the source of love, the blueprint for community, the inspiration for worship, and the motivation for mission.

Hidden Idols ~ Holy Joy.

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts,”  (1 John 5:21). What takes God’s place in our hearts? Idols. Our struggle may not be with a golden calf, but what about social media, secular pressures, food, substances, comfort…. The list goes on and on. If you have felt sluggish in your walk with God – if you long for the joy of the Lord – if you wish to take your spiritual maturity to a new level, then join us February 23-25. Marcia Lebhar and her daughter, Dr. Sarah Hall, will help us examine the role of idols in our culture and how to overcome them through the lens of Scripture. Holy Joy awaits us on the other side of these idols, so don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity!


Price includes two night’s accommodations, 5 meals, all taxes and fees. 

Single:  $346.00 (no roommate).

Double: $249.00 (one roommate).

Triple: $216.00  (two roommates).

Day Attendee: $125.00 (includes meals).

Important info in a glance:

  • You will be required to list the names of your roommates when you register so please have names ready.
  • You will be charged the rate that corresponds with the number of people registered in the room, so all of your roommates need to be registered by the January 22 noon  deadline or  you’ll be charged the higher rate.
  • Please do not register and assume that we will assign you a roommate as there are not always roommates available. If you need help finding a roommate, please email Sally Wallace or Rebecca Glenn prior to registering.
  • Roommate changes cannot  be made after registration.


Registration by December 22, 5:00 pm enters registrant in a drawing for a free retreat (based on double occupancy).

Regular registration deadline is noon on January 21, 2018.

Cancellation Policy

A full refund is available if you cancel prior to February 9.  Cancellations between February 9 and February 20 will receive a refund of the original rate less a $44.00 administrative fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after February 20.

Scholarships and discounts

Limited need-based scholarships are available. Those requesting scholarships are requested to submit a scholarship application by January 23. Click here to review and complete the scholarship form.

Scholarships are sometimes the only way some ladies can attend the women’s retreat. If you would like to donate to the retreat scholarship fund, please check the amount you’d like to donate while registering. Donation options are listed below retreat rates on the registration page.

Seniors 65 years or older will receive a discounted rate (waived retreat fee). If you are a senior and would like the discount, please use discount code SENIOR (all caps) when registering. 

Additional information 

Childcare is not provided. The retreat is for high school graduates and older.

Hotel check in as well as retreat check-in begins  at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Dinner begins at 5:00 pm Friday and the first session begins at 7 p.m. The retreat concludes at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
