It is also our desire to help other women. To that end, we will be collecting supplies for Doors to Freedom, a local non-profit started by a Summerville woman who, after seeing Sex Trafficking during mission trips, figured she would leave the USA when she retired from interior decorating and raising her children to work rescuing girls in other countries. When she realized it was happening here in Charleston, she started Doors to Freedom. Last year the program was expanded and they were able to open a safe house. The house is full and they are now working on expanding a garage/shed into “HERS ACADEMY” so the school program and offices can move out of the house to make room for the girls. It is an amazing program doing awesome work… right here in Charleston.  If you feel so inclined to donate supplies, please bring them according to your last name as follows:

A – I:  Laundry detergent, hand soap or napkins

J – R:  Tampons, dish soap, or dishwasher detergent

S-Z:  Toilet paper, paper towels, or $10 or $20 gift cards for Chick-Fil-A, McDonalds, or other fast food.

You can find more information about Doors to Freedom here.
