Dear City Church,
On Wednesday afternoon, City Church was notified by the Children’s Museum that on January 7th they would begin what will be at least a two month renovation of their building which will require an entire shutdown of their current facility. As you know, we have had the privilege of leasing the Museum for our Children’s Ministry on Sunday mornings. Apparently, while the Children’s Museum had hoped to renovate in stages, several emerging issues required a more comprehensive and immediate approach.
Upon learning about this, we began to search for another proximate location for our children. As appropriate space for this ministry is limited near the Music Farm, please keep this search in your prayers. I am confident that God will provide what is needed.
Children’s Ministry will take place as usual this Sunday. We will keep you informed as we investigate any options. As you pray for City Church, please remember to pray also for our friends at the Children’s Museum for whom this renovation project is an expensive and disruptive necessity.
The Lord reminded me of James 1:2-4 yesterday as I was praying about all of this.
“Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
God is faithful. Because of who he is, we can even consider facing our troubles as joy because of what he does in us as we trust him with them.
Faithfully in Christ,
