Connections Ministry

Connect Team

Frequency of Service: Once a month

Day and Time of Service: Sunday Mornings

Membership Requirement: None

Length of Commitment: 1Year

Training Commitment: On the Job

Description of Duties: Stay after the service for 15 minutes to man the Welcome Desk and answer questions and interact with visitors and assist with the monthly Connection Coffees.

Alpha Volunteer

Frequency of Service:  Weekly for 9 weeks plus a Saturday

Day and Time of Service:  Monday evenings 5:45-8:30 plus one Saturday from 8:30-3

Membership Requirement: None

Length of Commitment: 6 Months

Training Commitment:  One training session before plus weekly facilitator meetings if you are a facilitator.

Description of Duties: Assist with the Alpha Course at St. Andrew’s.  Opportunities to serve are:  host, helper, kitchen, greeting and prayer team.  Specific times you are needed on Mondays depend on your role.

Additional Requirements:  In order to be a host/helper you need to have completed the Alpha Course at St. Andrew’s and attended the Alpha Retreat.

Sunday Morning Greeter

Frequency of Service: Two months a year

Day and Time of Service:Sunday Mornings

Training Commitment: On the Job

Description of Duties: Arrive 15 minutes before the service to provide a genuine smile and warm welcome to everyone arriving at St. Andrew’s

Cooks and Servers

Frequency of Service: Once per Month

Day and Time of Service: Wednesday, 11 am – 12:45 pm

Description of Duties: Every Wednesday, September-May, volunteers prepare and serve lunch for our seniors who attend the 11 am service. Both cooks and servers are needed.

Children’s Ministry

Lifeguard - Infants and Toddlers

Frequency of Service: Once every 3 weeks.

Service Times: Sunday Mornings during the 9am or 10:45am services

Membership Requirement: Member for 6 months.

Training Commitment: Orientation

Description of Duties: Nursery caregivers comfort and play with infants and toddlers. Preschool helpers assist with crafts and play with the children.

Elementary Ministry Small Group Leader

Description of Duties: Lead a group of 10 children in follow up activities after large group teaching.

Women’s Ministry

Girls Outside (GO) Leadership Team

Frequency of Service: 3 events per year, 3 planning meetings

Day and Time of Service:  Varies – one event in Fall, Winter, Spring, possible planning meeting in Summer

Length of Commitment: 1 Year

Description of Duties: Girls Outside (GO) Leadership Team is perfect for those women with a sense of adventure who enjoy connecting with the Lord while being outside and active. Past events have included a surf day, Village and bridge walks, ropes course, kayaking, scavenger hunt, etc. The leadership team aids in vision development, as well as planning and executing events, which are loads of fun!

Women's Ministry Event Volunteer

Frequency of Service: Up to 5 times per year

Description of Duties: Women’s Ministry Event Volunteers give on-site help during various women’s ministry events throughout the year, and is a perfect service opportunity for those who enjoy serving behind the scenes and meeting new friends. Duties might include greeting, preparing the meeting space for the event, serving and clearing meals, and cleaning up after the event.  Events might include Fall and Spring semester Kickoffs, Creative Arts Workshops, Legacy Lunch, and the Year End Event. If you decide to be a Women’s Event Volunteer, we will add your name to our list and send you a sign-up email prior to the event. You do not have to commit to all events.

Women's Retreat Team

Frequency of Service: 4-5 times per year

Day and Time of Service:1-2 Retreat Planning Meetings in late Jan/ early Feb and hands on during 3-day Women’s Retreat late Feb.3

Membership Requirement: Member for 6 months.

Length of Commitment: 6 months

Training Commitment: 1-2 Planning Meetings

Description of Duties: The Women’s Retreat Team helps plan and execute the women’s retreat, held off campus on the last weekend of February. Duties might include helping with registration, organizing and/or distributing retreat materials, on-site set-up, skit, greeting, putting together door prizes, manning the hospitality suite, etc. You choose your area of interest. Serving on the retreat team is a great way to get to know new friends and have a good time with old ones, all while enjoying a wonderful weekend away in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Worship Arts

Traditional Service Choir Member

Frequency of Service: 2 times per week

Day and Time of Service:  Thursdays 7:45-9:00 p.m., Sundays 10:00-11:45 a.m.

Membership Requirement: None

Length of Commitment: 6 Months

Training Commitment: Come try us out for a month!

Description of Duties: We would love to have anyone who likes to sing and prefers traditional worship services to come and give our Rite I Choir a tryout.  In other words, you are trying us out, not the other way around!  Come join us for our Thursday evening rehearsals and Sunday morning services for a month.  If you like the experience, please stay with us; if you decide after a month, that this is not something to which you want to commit, we will still be glad to have gotten to know you better.  There is no requirement to be able to read music or to have had any formal training in music.  If you can sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” and folks around you can recognize the tune, then you probably have what it takes to be a contributing member of our Choir!
