Staff Transition

It is with joy and gratitude that I write to you to announce that Sam Hunter has accepted the call to serve as the full-time Pastoral Associate for Worship, Discipleship and Communications at City Church. We have already known the blessing of Sam’s ministry during Jessica’s maternity leave and know him to be a gifted leader of worship. I am excited that he will be a part of the staff team at City Church. In addition to taking on the responsibilities of leading worship, he will also handle our communications and work with me in the further development of our discipleship ministry, especially among young professionals. He also will develop and oversee our Middle School ministry and participate on the College Ministry Team.

Sam grew up in the Charleston area and graduated from Clemson, majoring in Audio Technology. He interned at a Nashville recording studio and has worked at Camp St. Christopher and in Student Ministry at St. Andrews, each for three years. You can also catch Sam around town playing with his band, St. Jermaine. Sam and his newlywed wife Maddy are excited to be a part of the City Church community.

We have turned many pages in the unfolding story that God is writing in the life of City Church. Even now we are experiencing a rebuilding that the Lord is doing among us. I look forward with eager anticipation to see what God does in this next chapter together.

Please join me in welcoming Sam and Maddy to City Church.
