Services in the Historic Church

We provide this detailed information so you can make an informed decision about returning to church.

Arriving at the Historic Church

  • Maintain physical distancing of 6 feet between your family and others at all times.
  • Wait at the entrance until an usher escorts you to a pew.
  • In order to maintain good physical distancing practices and maximum occupancy, ushers will direct you to your pew.

Masks

  • Masks are required.
  • Masks will be provided for those who arrive without them.
  • The service will not begin if any person is not wearing a mask.

Restrooms and Sanitation Stations

  • Restrooms are available next door, through Sams Hall.
  • Ushers and volunteers that may hand you items will wear gloves.
  • Sanitation stations will be at the entrance.

Communion (7:45 am only)

  • Attendees will be handed a pre-filled individual sealed communion cup by gloved volunteers as they arrive.
  • Everybody will partake of the wafer and the cup as directed by the Celebrant.

After the Dismissal

  • Please deposit your offering in the provided baskets as you leave the service.
  • In order to maintain appropriate physical distancing we ask you to wait until you are dismissed by an usher before heading to the exit.
  • Please do not congregate on the porch or the landings as you leave the church.

Services in the Ministry Center

We provide this information in detail so you make an informed decision about returning to church.

Occupancy and Entering

  • Seating for each service will be limited to 250 attendees.
  • All in attendance must register to attend using the link provided through regular church communications. This link is usually emailed on Tuesdays. (Sign up for our weekly emails.)
  • All must enter the building through the West Entrance to the Ministry Center located on Venning Street (through the courtyard between the back of the Historic Church and the new Ministry Center). Do not enter via Sams Hall.
  • With the exception of parents with children who may need to step outside of the Sanctuary, no one will be seated in the foyer.

Seating

  • All in attendance will be seated by ushers to ensure maximum occupancy
  • Rows of chairs will be 6 feet apart
  • Family units will be separated by 3 empty chairs.

Masks and Sanitation Stations

  • Masks are required for the duration of the service for every person six years of age and older. Masks are encouraged for those over the age of 2.
  • Masks may be removed by clergy and readers when addressing the congregation.
  • Masks are required for band members except when onstage and singing into a mic.
  • Sanitation stands will be at the entrance to the Ministry Center.
  • Volunteers/Staff handling items for the congregation will wear gloves.
  • Masks will be provided for those who arrive without them.
  • The service will not begin until all are wearing a mask.

Offering

  • The Offering will be received as people leave the Ministry Center

Communion

  • Attendees will be handed a pre-filled individual sealed communion cup by gloved volunteers as they arrive.
  • Everybody will partake of the wafer and the cup as directed by the Celebrant.

Dismissal

  • Ushers will dismiss by row.
  • The congregation will exit the Ministry Center through both the East and West Entrances/Exits.
