A Litany For Easter At Park Circle

Litanies are often used in the church to assist in our prayer and intercession. During my morning prayer time for Easter, I drafted this litany and wanted to pass along for all of us to use as we continue to pray for our Easter service.

Father, we come to you to pray for your church, your people, the movement of the Gospel and for those you are drawing to yourself. We come to specifically pray for our Easter service that will take place in the heart of Park Circle. As we pray to you Lord God, hear our prayer.

We pray that as we gather in the beauty of your creation, you will provide for us weather that allows us to hold our service outdoors and weather that will not hinder your church gathering together. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for those who are far from you but close to us. Place in our hearts and minds those who you would want us to invite. We pray the Holy Spirit will begin working in their hearts, stirring their affections towards you and the Gospel. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for those who will attend Easter Sunday that do not have a church home. We pray they see the faithful community of St. Andrew’s Park Circle as a place they can belong to. We pray they will see the adoption offered though Jesus. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for the preaching of your word. We pray that through the sermon people will hear the Gospel and see the hope of Jesus. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for our worship team as they prepare in the coming weeks and as they will lead us on Sunday morning. May the music we sing serve as a way for us to hear the truth of the Gospel through song. We pray for voices and hands that play instruments. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for those who will serve your church on Easter Sunday. We pray that your people will rise to the occasion for the things that will need to be done. We pray for the set-up team and for a smooth process of things coming together and technology working. We pray that we will always remember we are about people and the things we have are helpful in communicating the Gospel. We pray for our audio team as they oversee the sound system. We pray for those who will welcome people through greeting and being at our welcome tables. We pray for those who will read your Word and serve at Your table. We pray to you Lord God.

We pray for protection against the work of the enemy who seeks to distract and discourage. We pray for protection of all of those who will serve your church. We pray for Dave and Phillip as they prepare, lead, and gather those willing to serve. We pray for those who will attend. We pray that spirit of God will dwell among all of us as a hedge of protection. We pray to you Lord God.

Father, hear the prayers of your people. Guide and direct us as we finish our Lenten journey and walk towards Easter, where we will gather to worship You, hear God’s word proclaimed, and to partake in the sacraments of Your church.
