Caring for the Church

Dear St. Andrew’s Family,

In the last few days, under the leadership of our Vestryman, Chris Brooks, along with Kay Boggs, Deb Sprayberry, Doug Barnett, Carol Manning, and Sandra Anderson have met together to brainstorm ways in which we can serve each other in the days and weeks ahead. I am grateful for their leadership in this initiative. We have an amazing church family!

Senior Saints

The most vulnerable members of our congregation are our senior saints. To that end, the Senior Ministry led by Kay Boggs, has called the 60+ members of our congregation who are over the age of 80. Assistance has been offered and the response has been one of great gratitude. Catherine Triplett, Suzy Cook, and Deb Sprayberry are assisting Kay Boggs to assure that all are adequately cared for and that food, medications, and comforting support are not lacking. They will continue to touch base weekly with this group to see if the church can be of assistance in any way. If you are a member of our congregation, are over the age of 80, and did not receive a phone call from a fellow parishioner, please contact the church office (843.284.4310 or Office@StAndrews.Church) so we can ensure we have the correct contact information for you.

Others in Need

Your St. Andrew’s family is also prepared to respond to other parish families who might need prayer, encouragement, or specific assistance in the days/weeks ahead. We recognize the unique challenges being faced by single parents, families where a parent is deployed, those limited by impaired health, and those reluctant to leave their homes.

Volunteers

If you are in good health and are willing to volunteer to do things such as grocery shopping, errands, transportation to medical appointments, or prescription pickup, not just for our older members, but for any of our members, please contact the team leader, Chris Brooks (ChrisLBrooks11@gmail.com). Common sense precautions will be in place to assure the health and safety of all. Volunteers themselves should be in good health.
