When Helping Hurts: An Outreach & Mission Workshop Saturday, October 16 9 am – 3 pm Sams Hall Cost is free but registration required Throughout Scripture we are told to use our
Throughout Scripture we are told to use our time, talent, and treasure to help the poor. But who are the poor? And how do we help them? This workshop will explore poverty from a Christian worldview perspective and give us opportunities to think about how we can (and should) be using our time, talent, and treasure to help the poor – without hurting them.
Facilitated by George Green, III, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Water Mission, this seminar is open to all campuses of St. Andrew’s. Members of the missions committee, members of the vestry, ministry leaders, and Life Group leaders are encouraged to attend. The reference for the workshop is the book “When Helping Hurts” by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert. A copy of the book will be provided to attendees.
There is no cost to attend and lunch will be served. For more information contact Anthony Kowbeidu (AKowbeidu@StAndrews.Church or 843.284.4327).
