Don’t just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon:Matthew 10:34-42

Sermon Summary

Many people think that Jesus came to bless our lives as we know them and to make us happy in the process. They also think that he came to teach us and show us how to get along better with everyone else. Few things are further from the truth. Jesus came to bring change. Deep change. Eternal change. Amidst all of the relationships, priorities and affections of our lives, Jesus calls us to love him first, most, and completely. While this is a high and costly call, he promises that we will always be the special focus of the Father’s love, attention, provision, and care. Whatever is done to us, he takes personally. This is true for us individually and it is true for us as his Church.
