Imagine standing on the shore of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus restored Peter or standing atop Mt. Carmel where Elijah challenged the prophets of Baal. What would it be like to walk through the crowded markets of Jerusalem and up the steps to the Temple ruins or visit the village of Magdala – the hometown of Mary Magdalen? You don’t have to simply imagine.
I’ve scheduled a visit to the Holy Land for October 13-24, 2020 and I invite you to join me.
This will be my 5th trip to Israel and in that time about 150 folks from St. Andrew’s have joined me for this life-changing experience. We are adding an overnight visit to Petra on this trip which I am pretty excited about. I’d be thrilled to have you come along to discover the beauty and splendor of the land where our mothers and fathers in the faith once walked.
The trip is being organized for us by my long-time friend, Wayne Skaff. Wayne is the Executive Pastor at Northgate Church just outside of Minneapolis. He has vast experience in organizing trips to the Holy Land dating back to his time on staff with Billy Graham (this will be Wayne’s 50th trip to Israel). Our guide will be Jane Ben-Ari. Jane grew up in a Jewish home in England. Her grandfather was a Chief Rabbi. She immigrated to Jerusalem as a teenager and for the past 30 years she had guided tens of thousands of people, including a U.S. Presidential party, and has appeared in numerous television specials on the Holy Land. Jane has unmatched knowledge of the Holy Land and a way of teaching that makes her one of a handful of guides classified as the “best of the best.”
I expect this trip will fill quickly. The trip is limited to 42 people. If you would like more information feel free to contact me. If you would like a detailed brochure outlining our itinerary, please contact Nancy Sapakoff (NSapakoff@StAndrews.Church).
I hope you’ll join me!
