Parent Resource: Kids Safety and Summer Sleepovers.

The kids of St. Andrew’s Park Circle are one of our most precious gifts and we take their safety very seriously. All of our volunteers are background checked and trained under the Darkness to Light’s “Stewards of Children” training because we know a child must be safe if they are going to grow in the gospel.

This also means that when we come across good information we like to pass it on to parents. Summer is a great time for our kids to grow socially but this needs to be done in an age appropriate and healthy way.   Here’s a great article from Darkness to Light on how, as a parent, we can foster healthy sleepovers…

“In many places school is out and kids’ summer activities are getting started – riding bikes all day, pool parties, sleepovers, and summer camps. You make sure your kids are prepared with helmets and swim lessons, but have you thought about how to prepare them to be away safely overnight and have safer sleepovers?”
