Dear St. Andrew’s Family,
There is never a slow moment on our campus worksite or in the life of our Parish.
We had a busy ministry week this past week. Two marriage ceremonies and seven baptisms took place in both the Historic Church and Mt. Pleasant Academy!! It is so refreshing to see our ministry life continue in the midst of our construction process.
Our staff met this past Monday to work through the planning and calendering process for the 2018-2019 ministry year. As you might expect, there was quite a bit of give and take as we sorted the needs and schedules of our various ministries. The good news is that we will be up and running with our full ministry and course offerings this fall. I am very thankful to our staff and lay leaders for all the work they did to pull this off. Pretty amazing.
I also wish to let you know that our “Home Focus” team has met twice now. They are at work organizing ongoing, all-church, community-building events. The first gathering event will be a ground-breaking and dedication of our new construction on Wednesday night, July 25th.
We are working with the Town to close Venning at our property lines. We’ll be bringing in FIVE food trucks (three more than last time). Following our gathering and dinner time we will have Wednesday Night Worship in the parking lot. We will sing a mix of hymns and praise music. You’ll need to bring a lawn chair. I hope you’ll come along and join with your St. Andrew’s family as we give God thanks for the life we share in Christ and look ahead to all that He has for us. I’ll have more information once we work out the details with the Town.
Lastly, I’d bid your prayers. Jacqui and I are on an airplane headed to Israel with forty-some St. Andrew’s folks as we begin a ten-day pilgrimage through the country. Israel is always amazing. It is all the more amazing when it is shared with St. Andrew’s family members.
You remain in our prayers.
With Much Love in Christ,
Steve & Jacqui
