Don’t just take our word for it . . . take His! We would encourage you to spend time examining the following Scriptures that shaped this sermon: 1 Timothy 6:3-11; Mark 10:13-31
Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life. But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” (Mark 10:29–31 ESV)

Truly I Say to You: Finding Truth in a Post-Truth World
We live in a time when it’s hard to know what to believe and who to trust. Various opinions on almost every matter, contradictory facts, talking heads, who do we listen to? As Christians, Jesus. One of Jesus’s favorite sayings was “truly I say to you…” He often used this phrase both to assert His own authority (compare with prophets “thus saith the Lord”) and to add emphasis to a particular truth He desired to communicate. In this series based in the Gospels, we will consider nine of Jesus’ statements that reveal important truths about the kingdom of God, the nature of sacrifice, faith, ministry, worship, His own identity, salvation, and life after death.
